Internet Marketers Provides Computer Security

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Working on the Internet provides Internet marketers with the opportunity to make a living in the comfort of their own home.
For more detail go to: www.activities-little-fingers.com. computer security includes threats such as viruses, identity theft, and spy ware, aware to name but a few. The latest statistics show that at least over 900 new viruses are created each month which makes keeping track of them really quite difficult. This article would cover three (3) subtopics namely: The Internet, Spy ware and Antivirus.

Internet

If you use your computer on the internet, you need (at minimum) anti virus software. The problem of computer security is the number one problem in today’s networks and Internet engineering. As hackers use different means to crack the security systems it often happens to be impossible to resist and computer security system fail.

Computer Security on the internet is vital for home and business use as there are increasingly hostile environments when users surf the net. It is very important for users to be educated on the dangers they may face while on the internet. Your computer connected to the internet is similar to your house in many ways. Users search on the internet for free computer security software which they dump into their computers and hope for the best.

The Internet is a wonderful place. Anyone with an Internet connection can stay in touch with family and friends via email. Computer security is growing rapidly by the minute and the only one who has control over their files of information is the user. It is strongly suggested that users equip their pc with an armed fire wall for vital protection.

An advice is to use Microsoft Windows Update to keep your operating system and Internet Explorer patched. Other advice could be to only conduct Internet transactions that have secured processing. for more detail go to:www.fire-itup.comEven if you have a computer connected to the Internet only to play the latest games or to send email to friends and family, your computer could be a target.

Although confidentiality, integrity and authenticity are the most important things when it comes to computer security in general, for everyday internet users, privacy is the most important one, because many people think that they have nothing to hide or the information they give doesn’t seem sensitive when they register with an internet service/site.

Spy ware

An avenue for Spy ware to infect your machine is through popular Peer-to-Peer File sharing software such as Kazan. Extreme spy ware like Root kits and other advanced spy ware have fundamentally changed the playing field in today’s computer security.

While it may seem to be common sense, many of the most widely-spread attacks have involved spy ware and email attachment worms. Often these packages come as “suites” including a firewall and Spy ware scanner. They scan and destroy spy ware as it’s found in the user’s computer.

Regardless of the type of spy ware, it can slow your computer to a crawl and needs to be removed from your computer. Spy ware occurs when certain websites run programs in the back ground of your computer while gleaning information from it. There is now a bill in the US Congress to make Spy ware illegal.

How Safe is your Computer – you be the Judge

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Is your computer safe from a virus? You might say yes, but do you know that for sure. If you do not have anti virus protection installed you are leaving yourself susceptible to a computer virus. Trust me you do not want a virus on your computer. Depending on the virus it could cause some real damage to every aspect of your computer. A really harmful virus could completely disable your computer, causing the need for a new hard drive or even motherboard.

Your computer can become infected with a virus in a variety of different ways. Such as via email, downloads, or even hackers. Just visiting a certain website could give you a virus, if they have downloads that are unseen by the eyes. The only way to protect yourself from a potential harmful and costly computer virus is to install anti virus protection. This protection comes in the form of antivirus software.

This is the only way to protect your computer from being infected with a virus. What is great about some of this protection is that, thanks to the internet, you can find free antivirus software. Of course, not all anti virus scans are free, but great majorities of them are.

You may think that free antivirus software has only one function, to find and rid your computer of viruses. While this is one of their functions, in most cases it is not the only one. Many of the latest antivirus software come with many other features that can help protect your computer while you are using it. For example, not only will some find and eliminate the viruses already on your computer, but it will also monitor your computer from that point on blocking any viruses that are coming in. Most will scan your downloads and email to ensure your computer remains safe and virus-free.

Most of the free antivirus software also scans and eliminates instances of annoying adware and spyware. Both of these work to slow your computer down and make your time on the computer a whole lot less enjoyable with unwanted popups and advertisements. Your best defense from a virus is good, solid, and reputable antivirus software.

You can find software and anti virus scans all over the internet. It is wise to choose your anti virus protection based on recommendations from other users, ease of use, price, as well as reputation. By doing so you will protect yourself from a computer virus and enjoy safety and peace of mind during your internet travels.

Tips For Those Who Are About to be Terminated or Have Just Been Terminated 1. If your employer has made the decision to terminate you, you may suddenly be escorted from the building. If you believe you are about to be terminated, be sure to sanitize your workspace. For example, delete your personal email from the computer and remove your personal pictures, calendars, letters, etc. from your desk. If you have files, employee handbooks, commendations, etc. that belong to you, start taking them home now. 2. Do not delete anything from your computer or remove anything from the workplace that does not belong to you. Do not access records that you are not authorized to access. Those acts alone may be cause for discharge, and any claim you may have against your employer may be lost. You may want to seek advice from an attorney as to whether certain documents belong to you before removing them. 3. If you are thinking about quitting your job because you are about to be terminated, consider consulting an attorney first. Any claim you may have against your employer for wages may be lost or diminished if you quit. 4. Remember that Illinois is an employment at-will state, which means that your employer may terminate you for any reason at all, other than an illegal reason. There is no law against unfairness. 5. Even if your employer has treated you harshly, do not do or say anything that could be construed as cause for discharge. If your employer engages in rude or hostile behavior towards you, do not say or do anything that you would not want a judge or jury to hear about. 6. If you believe you have been the victim of discrimination or some other type of illegal conduct on the part of your employer or a co-worker, remember that statutes of limitations apply, which means that claims must be filed within a specified period of time or they will not be actionable. For example, to file a charge of discrimination with a City, County or State agency, you must file within 180 days from the time you knew or should have known that you were discriminated or retaliated against. In Illinois, the limitations period for filing with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is 300 days. 7. If you believe that you are the victim of illegal conduct on the part of your employer, contact your family attorney immediately and ask him/her to refer you to an employment lawyer. Alternatively, contact one of the bar associations and ask to be referred to an employment lawyer. Ask whether the bar association screens attorneys on its specialty referral panels and how long an attorney must practice employment law to be on that panel. 8. During the time you are employed and for the first year after you leave an employer, you are entitled to a copy of your personnel records within seven days of your employer’s receipt of your written request. If your employer refuses to comply with your request, report it to the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL). 9. If your employer tells you that you will be terminated if you do not resign, most likely you will be entitled to unemployment compensation unless you have engaged in some type of misconduct. 10. Remember that you cannot control what others do, but you can control what you do. That means that you can exercise some control over how you feel about your termination. If you were terminated even though you did a good job for your employer, remind yourself daily that employees are often terminated for reasons that have nothing to do with their abilities, performance, or worth.
