Trojan software programs are just one of the threats that affect Internet security, and any malicious software program can cause a wide variety of problems and weaknesses in your PC. Anti virus software programs are critical, because of the large number of Internet security threats out there on the world wide web. Some of the more serious programs can hijack your computer, access everything that is on your system, or even cause physical damage and system failures that will not allow your system to start up ever again. A new PC can be quite costly, so it is essential that you protect your system against Trojans and other Internet security threats.

The best way to avoid any malicious programs, including Trojans and viruses, is to be very careful about clicking anything. Many Trojans do not use force to enter your computer, instead they trick you into believing that the program or prompt is legitimate. Once you click the agreement or okay button, the Trojan will download, and may have the ability to download or activate other harmful programs as well. Always read the entire agreement, warning, or prompt, and think carefully before you agree. If you are not sure what a program is or does, do not allow it to run or install. This will protect you against Trojans and viruses that may cause irreparable harm to your system and your data.

Anti virus programs that are legitimate can help identify these harmful programs, many times before the Trojan can even get on your PC. It is important that these programs are updated daily, to prevent against any new threats recently identified. You also need to scan your system at least once a day for the best Internet security and computer protection. It may be necessary to scan more often if the program detects problems. Anti virus software can prevent Trojans and viruses, and increases your level of Internet security.

Use care when surfing on the web to prevent Trojans and other malware programs from gaining access to your PC. Some websites may be infected, either intentionally or without the site being aware of a third party infection, and if you visit one of these sites you may get a prompt that is misleading, or spyware may be downloaded secretly in the background, so you do not even realize it. Use caution and common sense when surfing the web. Only visit sites that you know are legitimate and infection free. This will minimize the risks of a Trojan or virus infecting your system.

To prevent viruses, Trojans, and other malicious software from causing problems on your computer, you should have Internet security programs and processes that are layered. Start by being careful to read everything before allowing a program to install or run. Make sure you have a quality anti virus program installed and updated, and that this program runs a daily scan to detect these infections. Be careful which sites you visit, because some sites can have harmful components. These steps will help you protect your system and Internet security.

My computer is running so slow and I am getting so frustrated and angry. Why does it always happen to you when there are important documents to complete or a deadline to meet. Why can’t your computer be as fast as when you first bought it. I am sure that you are thinking your PC thinks it is running the snail’s race instead of the sprint.

In reality, there are actually three simple tips that you can do before you consider taking your pc or laptop to your local computer store and outlaying a lot of money that you might not need to.

Tip No 1) Remove all temporary files and also files and programs that you haven’t used or have on intention of using again. Believe me, when I say that we all have these on our computer. I went through my computer’s hard drive and found programs that I hadn’t used for months. I couldn’t believe the amount of clutter and files that I had on my hard drive. I know that most of are guilty of this fact. When we first buy the computer we assume that the hard drive is big enough to hold endless information.

In removing the unnecessary clutter we are freeing up space and this in turn will help speed up the system. It made a difference to the speed of my own laptop.

Tip No2) Unfortunately, you might have a virus and this can be a very serious problem. You need run a virus scan on your computer immediately. Please do not underestimate the seriousness of this problem, because if you have a virus and just ignore the fact, you can actually lose all the data on your computer.

If you do find that you do not have virus software or you existing one hasn’t caught the virus and it does happen. Try an online scan. I also suggest AVG virus. . You can avail of the free version. Just type AVG into google and this bring up the download page. Again please do this now if you find out that you have to.

Tip No 3) This is another vital tip. Clean up your registry errors. The registry is the hub of your computer and stores vital information relating to the hardware and software that you have on your harddrive.

Most of the good registry cleaners will offer you a free scan and believe me you will be so amazed at the problems that it does actually highlight. Most of us do not realise, but over time your registry gets cluttered with files and programs. Registry errors are the main cause of computers running slow, developing blue screens or crashing.

So before you outlay money on computer repairs or upgrades, please go ahead and implement the 3 tips listed and you should see an improvement in your computer’s performance.

Good luck and I do hope that this information has helped you.

An Anti-virus And How It Saved My Computer.

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Not too long ago I experienced a major melt down on my computer, I am afraid to say it was due to a virus. It seems the anti-virus I had at the time was having a conflict with my laptop; as a result, a nasty virus snuck in my system and started playing around. At first, I did not realize what it was, web pages did not load correctly, and programs either would not load or would freeze when they did. I even got the dreaded Blue Screen.

I like many others out there whose computers now have viruses even though they have an anti-virus program. My anti-virus and my computer had conflicts, and I did not realize what it was until it was almost too late. A friend of mine mentioned that I might have a virus; I stated to her that I had a program and it was running. It was then that I learned that not all anti-viruses catch all viruses. She recommended I do a scan on my computer. I did using my old anti-virus and it showed up clean. I was then told to run another virus remover tool, I did and low and behold, there were quite a few of the little rotten things hiding in my PC. It seems that my anti-virus had not done its job. Thankfully, though I found one that did, AVG Free Edition.

Once I got rid of the viruses, my programs started working again, my Internet did not hang up, and my life on my compute

r returned back to normal. So why am I telling you my misfortune with Computer Viruses, simple really. I was fortunate enough to have a friend help me in my time of need and I want to be able to help you before yours gets as bad as mine did.
