A virus (Latin, poison) is a microscopic particle that can infect the cells of a biological organism. At the most basic level, viruses consist of genetic material contained within a protective protein shell called a capsid; the existence of both genetic material and protein distinguishes them from other virus-like particles such as prions and viroids.

They infect a wide variety of organisms: both eukaryotes (animals, fungi and plants) and prokaryotes (bacteria). A virus that infects bacteria is known as a bacteriophage, often shortened to phage. The study of viruses is known as virology. A virologist studies viruses.

Viruses are the most dangerous threat to world health today, and colostrum is one of the few substances that can stop them from progressing in the body. Colds, flu, herpes and AIDS are caused by viruses, and there is no known cure for any of them yet. Dr Asimov,, author of hundreds of science and science fiction books, had this to say some yeas ago at The World Congress on the Virus in San Diego: “It is still possible for viruses to kill millions, ten of millions, maybe hundreds of millions every year.” Viruses mutate, so it is almost impossible to develop a drug that can also control the new forms a virus may take.

In the last few years, colostrum and a number of its individual components have been seriously studied for their effects against a variety of viral diseases. As with the bacteria pathogens, colostrum’s ability to help with viral infections is more likely due to immune support and the combination of substances than to any specific antibody reaction.

Colostrum anti-viral properties include:

-Lactoferrin, an iron binding protein with antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is currently being studied for its effects against the HIV virus, herpes, and even cancer.

- Cytokines, which regulate the intensity of the immune response. They are known to boost the production of antibodies important in fighting viral infections.

- Leukocytes, the white blood cells that engulf invading organisms, including viruses.

Antibiotics, the so-called miracle drugs used to combat so many bacteria illnesses, can’t harm a single known virus. Most virus-caused diseases can only be treated for their symptoms. How does our body’s natural immune system kill them? We find that antibodies made from immunoglobulins, can destroy them. I want to point out that only antibodies, tailor-made to match any virus, can keep up with the viruses’ tendency to mutate.

FYI Colostrum vs AIDS

The best example of immunodeficiency is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or AIDS. Individuals with AIDS have such a suppressed immune response that a cold or flu can be devastating. What often happens with AIDs patients is that they are left vulnerable to viral and bacterial infections that settle in the bowel, thereby causing diarrhea. A 1992 study with immune-deficient patients experiencing chronic diarrhea due to viral infections showed that 72 percent experienced stool normalization after 10 days of treatment with concentrated bovine colostral immunoglobulins. Other studies have shown similar results. For people suffering from immune suppression and immunodeficient patients, colostrum can be very helpful, perhaps even lifesaving.

Computer safety. Computer security. Computer Anti Virus Spyware and Whole Identity Theft protection services are vital to our <b>…</b>

Working on the Internet provides Internet marketers with the opportunity to make a living in the comfort of their own home.
For more detail go to: www.activities-little-fingers.com. Computer Security includes threats such as viruses, identity theft, and spy ware, aware to name but a few. The latest statistics show that at least over 900 new viruses are created each month which makes keeping track of them really quite difficult. This article would cover three (3) subtopics namely: The Internet, Spy ware and Antivirus.

Internet

If you use your computer on the internet, you need (at minimum) anti virus software. The problem of computer security is the number one problem in today’s networks and Internet engineering. As hackers use different means to crack the security systems it often happens to be impossible to resist and computer security system fail.

Computer Security on the internet is vital for home and business use as there are increasingly hostile environments when users surf the net. It is very important for users to be educated on the dangers they may face while on the internet. Your computer connected to the internet is similar to your house in many ways. Users search on the internet for free computer security software which they dump into their computers and hope for the best.

The Internet is a wonderful place. Anyone with an Internet connection can stay in touch with family and friends via email. Computer security is growing rapidly by the minute and the only one who has control over their files of information is the user. It is strongly suggested that users equip their pc with an armed fire wall for vital protection.

An advice is to use Microsoft Windows Update to keep your Operating System and Internet Explorer patched. Other advice could be to only conduct Internet transactions that have secured processing. for more detail go to:www.fire-itup.comEven if you have a computer connected to the Internet only to play the latest games or to send email to friends and family, your computer could be a target.

Although confidentiality, integrity and authenticity are the most important things when it comes to computer security in general, for everyday internet users, privacy is the most important one, because many people think that they have nothing to hide or the information they give doesn’t seem sensitive when they register with an internet service/site.

Spy ware

An avenue for Spy ware to infect your machine is through popular Peer-to-Peer File sharing software such as Kazan. Extreme spy ware like Root kits and other advanced spy ware have fundamentally changed the playing field in today’s computer security.

While it may seem to be common sense, many of the most widely-spread attacks have involved spy ware and email attachment worms. Often these packages come as “suites” including a firewall and Spy ware scanner. They scan and destroy spy ware as it’s found in the user’s computer.

Regardless of the type of spy ware, it can slow your computer to a crawl and needs to be removed from your computer. Spy ware occurs when certain websites run programs in the back ground of your computer while gleaning information from it. There is now a bill in the US Congress to make Spy ware illegal.

Isafe Antivirus is a Safety Hazard

Few greater security threats exist on the Internet than rogue security tools.  iSafe Antivirus is just one of many programs that were created with the thought that it wasn’t enough to just infect computers with advertising software.  They take it a step further, going from being merely annoying to being unapologetically criminal.

One could almost say with the presence of rogue security tools that adware and spyware are passé.  Rogue software like iSafe Antivirus certainly does represent a new generation of infections.  Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible for the creators to be arrested and jailed at this time.

The concept that iSafe Antivirus and its ilk operate from is pretty simple.  Secretly infect a computer, make the user think that they’re the only ones who can get rid of it, charge them an arm and a leg for it, and don’t deliver as promised.  That’s the scam in summary.

“How does iSafe Antivirus infect a computer?” you might ask.  They lie in wait at infected websites.  The websites more often than not involve watching videos, especially ones that might involve copyright violations by their presence.  Adult content Web sites have been noted as being infected as well.  Web sites can be easily cloned, so there’s no sure answer on how to avoid them.

An infection from iSafe Antivirus begins the moment you click on an infected icon.  It shows you that you’re downloading a video codec, which is actually the Zlob Trojan Downloader.  This program bypasses your computer’s security and installs iSafe Antivirus.

From there, iSafe Antivirus takes over.  You get a pop-up that asks you if you want a scan, and regardless of your answer, it starts.  It then tells you that your computer has a virus infection.  Not just any virus infection, but the very mother of infections.  Your computer would have already crashed if it was true.

Then, iSafe Antivirus tells you that you have to get their full version to clean up your computer.  This is where the truly criminal part begins.  First of all, it’s a scam, if you’re lucky.  The software doesn’t work; it’s only a shell program.  But that’s not as bad as it gets.

There is full potential if you buy iSafe Antivirus that they will steal your identity.  Corrupt people have access to your credit account, and there’s really no telling what they’ll do with it.  Is that a risk that you’re willing to take?

Even if you avoid this problem, you still have to get rid of iSafe Antivirus.  That is, unless you like being interrupted every ten minutes by a so called virus scan.  It’s also set up to run every time you boot your computer, so a restart doesn’t lay it to rest, either.

To clarify a possible mistake when trying to get rid of iSafe Antivirus, you should know that it’s not a virus.  Rogue security tools are a bundle of spyware, so you should use an antispyware program, not an antivirus to get rid of them.  Make sure that you have the best available.

Fix Your PC Fast & Free!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

This week we will be focusing on Spyware.

Exactly What Is Spyware?

We wanted to go into a little more detail on this whole spyware thing because we talk about it so often. Ninety-nine percent of what goes wrong in an internet connected PC is caused by spyware, right? Wrong. Spyware gets a bad press. It certainly deserves it, but the term has become too generalized, and this can be frustrating for both technicians and end users alike.

Spyware often manifests itself in the following ways:

Popups appear when you’re not even connected to the Internet.

Strange toolbars appear on your browser that you did not install.

Your homepage has changed and you cannot change it back.

You system crashes or takes forever to load.

So I have Spyware. Now what?

Just about everyone gets spyware on their system at some time or another. The question is, ‘how do you get rid of it?’ Depending on the severity of the infection, reformatting and a clean install of the operating system may be the only sure way to know it’s gone.

We do this for several reasons, but the most important is that you know the spyware is gone and prevention can be used to keep the system clean.

If reformatting and reinstalling isnt a desired option, then check out some of the free spyware scanners such as adaware or spybot sd. Personally I use Counterspy which is an excellent scanner at a very competitive price.

Free Software etc

Although there are many bonefide distributors of software there are also many unscrupulous sites and programmers who attach viruses and or spyware to their ‘free programs.’

If you consistently install software from the internet without checking it out first then it is only a matter of time before your system becomes infected with spyware and or viruses.

You may have already experienced something along these lines. You come across a free program that promises all sorts of benefits for you and its FREE! How can you resist? You click on the download button and if your lucky and have SP2 installed then you get the message asking you if you want to install the,’ active x control,’ that will allow the software download.

This is where the trouble can begin. Active x controls without getting too geeky can of course be good or bad and basically you are giving permission if you answer yes to allow this active x control to do whatever it wants to your system.

If you use P2P file sharing programs then the chances of your system becoming infected are substantially increased, in fact I would say it’s inevitable.
How To Download Perfect Optimizer for free full version(To make your pc faster and to fix it)

Prevention

The obvious answer to free downloads and P2P file sharing problems is not to use these programs or download software that we are not familiar with the source. Will we do this, I would doubt it. So what else can we do to prevent this from happening and our systems becoming infected?

This is going to be painful, I know. But keeping your system free of spyware takes a little effort coupled with some helpful tips.

Use a good firewall, anti-virus solution & spyware scanner. Never open email if you don’t recognize the sender. Install McAfee’s free site advisor & spoofstick to prevent phising scams.

McAfee’s site advisor is an excellent way to be alerted of potentially dangerous sites. Its quick, it’s free and it works. More and more sites are being submitted for Testing every day. Just type, ‘Site advisor,’ into Googles search engine to find the download.

Spoof stick will alert you with just a quick glance to any spoof (fake)websites. It will also work when clicking on any links in an email etc. This should help you steer clear of banking scams, identity theft etc. Again Google it for the free download.

Make sure you have your system set to automatically receive updates & patches. Scan your system about once a week & remove any nasties that you may find. I also run Kaspersky’s free online scanner once a month as an extra precaution.

If you want to take your protection a step further then have a separate hard drive installed in your system. Its quick, relatively cheap, offers extra protection and gives us more space to store our data etc.

Once installed then simply make sure that anything you download is stored on the extra hard drive, the one not containing your operating system.

Once you have it there then run right click your mouse and select scan with, ‘the name of your virus scanner,’ and or spyware scanner and scan the file you just downloaded. If the file comes up clean and you want to move the program to your system drive, the one containing the operating system then you are as sure as you can be that it doesnt contain any nasties thus virtually eliminating any threat to the drive containing your operating system.

Of course you should run your spyware & virus scanners on this extra drive whilst doing your weekly scans.

You Do not Have to Pay for Anti-virus Protection

Friday, February 26th, 2010

UnlimitedTechSupporthttp://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/unlimitedtechsupportEducationInvisus, Computer, anti, virus, antivirus, spyware, safety, identity, theft, protection, lifelock, AVG, Kapersky, Norton, mcafee, Credit, Monitoring, Ann, Sieg, Mike, Dillard, Dennis, Karganilla, John, PiroInvisus Direct (Vol 4) Computer Security AntiVirus Spyware & Whole Identity Theft Protection

When we begin our computer journey and jump aboard the internet we are told we need to buy anti-virus security software. Often a trial program will be packaged with your new computer that is set to expire a short time later. Then the program will ask for payment to keep you protected. The most common two programs that come preinstalled on new computers are: Norton and McAfee. While both of these programs are well respected by many users they are also quite pricey.

There is no doubt that you need antivirus software on your computer, but there are some effective products out there completely free that compare to those high priced programs. Yes, you read that right. Free antivirus software products that are just as superior as the expensive well known brands.

As the internet evolves and so will the types of threats. There are now more problems and ways to infect your computer than ever. This is a trend likely to continue. Our job as an internet user is to become familiar with common threat types and keep our computer systems protected from them.

There are many types of security issues. These problems can come in many flavors and change rapidly so including them in this editorial would prove pointless. In a short time from now the threats could be much different than they are today. Trying to keep up with those details would be a full time job. Not to worry, we do not need to be security experts to stay safe.

There are some common wide based categories that most threats fall under. Knowing this we can learn how to protect ourselves from each category rather than each threat individually. The most common areas that need to be addresses are as follows:

Microsoft vulnerabilities

These are exploits to the code inside your Windows, IE browser and Office products. The way to keep these risks to a minimum is by keeping your Windows up to date using the Windows update service. I keep my Windows updates on automatic and they are downloaded and installed as released. This is free to Windows owners and can be found in your control panel.

Viruses

These come in many types. From worms to trojans they can cause huge problems on the users system. This is where free antivirus software can keep you protected. At the time of this writing, AVG, AVIRA and AVAST are three of the top place award winners for free antivirus software. I have used all three and settled with Avast as my protection software of choice. I also trust it enough to install it on the computers I assemble for clients.

Spyware and Malware

Items that fall into this category can vary from – chaotic as viruses or simple tracking cookies from an advertiser wanting to see where you came from or where you left to. These buggers can sneak in from website graphics and invisible code often with no warning at all. While Avast is one of the better anti-virus programs to also guard from spyware, it is not truly the software’s purpose.

Again there are free choices for spyware protection that work just as well as the high priced alternatives! One feature that is harder to get in the free spyware software is “real time protection”. I use Spyware Terminator which does offer real time protection and seems to be doing a great job on my Vista work machine. You can do a search for “free spyware protection” and look for review sites that evaluate several different programs available to choose from.

A frequent trick used by many *not so nice* software companies is to force a pop up that looks like a System Message announcing the user’s computer is infected by a virus. The box offers only one button, a link to remove the infection. This is actually a link that leads the clicker to a website that cleverly requests payment to solve the problem. Many times there is no virus other than the one asking you to pay to remove it!

With all these free protection tools available for personal use it is frustrating to see so many people who are lead to believe that they must pay for safety. We may not be able to stop viruses and other malicious codes on the internet but we can do our part to protect ourselves and thanks to a few great companies out there, we can do it for free.

Sinusitis In Children – Important Tips For Parents

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

What seems like common cold the first time its symptoms appear may actually turn out to be a case of sinus attack. Just like when they contract the cold virus, children cough, sneeze or get red noses when sinus attack hits them. What makes sinus attack different from common cold is the length of time the affliction wears itself out. It takes victims–young and old–a longer time to recover from sinusitis than from common cold.

The bones in our head and face have blank niches or spaces filled with air, called sinuses. Sinuses can be found at the back of the nasal cavity, on both sides of the nose, inside the forehead, behind both and in between eyes. Sinuses come in pairs; there are normally four pairs in each person. They start showing as early as the first few months of conception; they continue to develop until late adolescent age.

Why our bodies need to develp sinuses is not clear to many. However, scientific studies suggest that sinuses make us feel less burdened by the weight of our head due to the light air that fills them. Scientists say that if anything solid were to take the place of the air pockets, our heads will become much heavier. Sinuses are also believed to enhance the depth and tone of our voice. For example, our voices often sound differently when we are suffering from common cold or, worse, sinus attack.

Sinuses cover themselves with moist and thin layers of tissue called mucous membrane. This membrane makes it possible to add moisture to the air that comes in through normal breathing. They likewise secrete a gooey liquid called mucus that fills parts of the nose, also known as snot. This liquid serves to collect dust and germs that fly in the air before they can go farther inside the body.

Mucus membranes of sinuses surrounding the nasal area grow tiny hairs or cilia. These hairs sway in ways that facilitate mucus flow in and out of the nose. The cilia are disabled and the back flow of the mucus gets disrupted when a person contracts the cold virus. This explains why persons with cold develop symptoms like runny nose and clogged nasal cavities. The infection causes the swelling of mucus lining within the nasal area. This prevents the tiny passages between the sinuses and nose from working properly, effectively trapping more mucus within the sinuses. The immobile mucus becomes a friendly host for the virus, fungi and bacteria to breed.

Prolonged conditions stretching up to two weeks mean that the cold virus infection has worsened to become a sinus infection. Acute sinusitis describes an infection that drags on for more than two weeks. Beyond this period–stretching beyond three months–the ailment is called chronic sinusitis. Due to their less developed immune systems, children are at greater risk of getting hit by sinus attacks than adults.

Symptoms of sinusitis include bad breath, mild fever, daytime cough, puffy eyes, and incessant nasal discharge. There are children who also show signs of crankiness, physical exhaustion, and pain in various parts of the head.

Doctors who treat children suffering from symptoms of sinusities normally check, apart from sinuses, the nose, throat, and ears for infection. They tap or press lightly the patient’s forehead and cheeks. They prescribe antibiotics for infections caused by bacteria. This medication normally takes effect within days after taking the dosage. But in cases of chronic sinusitis, patients need to take the dosage for a longer period of time to ensure total removal of bacteria. Decongestants or nasal sprays dry up blocked or runny nose.

Children in particular should not cease from taking the medication until their conditions completely improve. Doctor’s advice, particularly when patients are not showing any improvement for an unusually prolonged period of time, is necessary. The doctor may recommend sinus CT scan for the afflicted child. Surgery is an option.

If anything good can be said about sinusitis, it is this: The infection is not contagious. Unless discomforts are such that they are keeping the infected child from moving about, he or she may conitnue going to school or mingling with friends without fear of contaminating anyone. What the child needs to avoid are allergies and environmental pollutants. This will at least reduce the risks of going down with the infection–again.
